The rule...or is it the exception to the rule...what rule was that??!
We girls pride ourselves in the strong rules and regulations that guide and strengthen our friendship. It’s an ever so flawless system that almost makes us sisters. These rules may vary depending on whether you're sluts, junkies, geeks, naïve, basically the unique character that describes the group. Some rules are supposed to be obvious……these are usually the rules that cause the cat fights because more often than not they are in fact, not obvious. And guys may call us weak and stupid for these fights but it is these fights that strengthen our bonds. So enough of the science let’s move on to the drama!
I used to have a list of rules that I considered to be in the obvious bracket for all my friends. My number one being ‘Thou shall not date your girlfriend’s x if they were in a serious relationship’ (If they were not serious really it doesn’t matter and I am sure all my girlfriends can agree). This was all working until the day I actually got feelings for one of my friend’s xz. Huge dilemma because I really liked this guy and loved my friend to death. I decided to set my mind to reject the relationship but this war was quite easily won by my heart. I decided to talk to my friend and as every word came out of my mouth I felt a huge knife curve the words double crossing bitch across my forehead. She was cool with it, sweet as friends can be. I became the exception to the rule even if we could both see the fictional rule we had break to pieces right in front of our faces. Hardest thing I ever had to do!!!
So today one of my friends sent me an inbox. She tells me she really likes one of my xz . She said ‘We started dating officially this past Sunday and I wanted to let you know.’ Well of course I was fine with it. But today the scribe in that fictional vault containing our rules and regulations made an edition to the rule. ‘Thou may date your girlfriend’s x as long as there was prior notification’ but I guess all these rules are cliché. They will all be broken one day anyway. In the end ‘We are true friends, we don’t judge and we are quick to forgive.’ A quote from one of the hottest men alive himself, Nate Archibald.

Loose, Stray, confused or on a rebound???!?? You tell me………..
See I am new to Liverpool. I have met all sorts of people. Interesting, weird, self-centred , you name it. It’s all here. A friend of mine told me exactly how things would be and surprisingly that’s exactly how the events have occurred. But that’s a story for another time. Right now I just need you to help me figure out this one girl I met.
I have got a friend that introduced us to a couple of her friends that joined Liverpool a few years ago. So we go out with these friends to a night club called Medication. This girl, (I’ll call her Lilly for purposes of discretion) comes out dressed to kill (well in her opinion).Over here the tradition is to pre drink, go out then post drink. So we go over to some guy’s house for the pre session and I guess this is where her doomed infatuation for this guy started. He did look good!
I could say lots more about this lad but I won’t get to the end of this story. So I’ll just give you the facts. Girl meets boy 1 and falls head over heels for him instantly. Boy finds out and opts for friendship instead just so girl doesn’t hurt so much. Girl takes it the wrong way and gets drunk over boy 1(number one mistake!) making a huge fool out of herself in front of everyone. This embarrassing mishap gives girl a reason to forget boy 1.A few days later, girl expresses feelings for boy 2.She calls him over to help her study and things of the sort in the wee hours of the night. Girl makes out with a drunken boy 2 on a night out and likes it. Boy 2 doesn’t call girl and she assumes they are dating. Boy 2 likes someone else and brings her along the next weekend. Girl hates herself for her choices and decides to hook up with boy 3 that night. A one night stand! Sadly boy 3 didn’t even make it home. Guess he had enough of second base on the dance floor in the club. (Yes, it was disgusting) Any way girl wakes up next morning and decides to exclude us all out of her life. Apparently her shitty life is our entire fault. She quickly moves on to boy 4 or is it 5?!? Hmmm…. it’s very easy to lose count. Trust me! Anyway she goes out on a date with mystery boy 4 and comes home with flowers. She then hosts boy x in her room for a week. (I say x because quite frankly we don’t know which number she had gotten to)
I could go on and on but I don’t think it’s worth it. So you tell me, what’s wrong with this girl?
Entry 1......pilot
Last night it hit me that I am slowly losing touch with my creative side. The diverse perspective I had on things was slowly becoming nothing but a one way street to the life of an Engineer. I hang out with engineers, sleep with engineers, discuss engineering, party with engineers and really I could go on and on but I am sure you get the point.
Decided I would turn a new leaf today. Put up my first blog entry. The idea was actually a suggestion from one of my friends when I sent him a text last night. I was whining about my loss of creativity. I told him I don’t write and would never attempt to write a blog. But as soon as I said it I disagreed with it. I am always the one preaching about having the right mind-set. How you can do anything you put your mind to.
So tonight I hand you the keys to the door to what is, my mind! I know the purpose of this blog is to enhance the diversity of my thoughts and perceptions but I must leave you with a reference to piece I find enriching. Written by scientist that inspires the engineer in me.
